When you enter a phone number and amount and submit the form, we send a request to Safaricom to trigger an M-Pesa STK push — a payment prompt that appears directly on your phone. You enter your M-Pesa PIN there to authorize the payment, exactly as you would for any other M-Pesa transaction. We never see or store your PIN.
Yes. All payments are processed by Safaricom's M-Pesa infrastructure, not by us — we only trigger the STK push and record the confirmation Safaricom sends back. Every contribution is verified against that confirmation before it's marked as paid and reflected in a project's progress.
If you cancel the STK prompt, enter the wrong PIN, or the request times out, no funds are deducted and the contribution is marked as failed — you'll see this on the payment status page. You can simply try again. If M-Pesa deducted money but the contribution still shows as failed or pending after a few minutes, contact the church office with your M-Pesa message so it can be reconciled.
A pledge is a commitment to give a lump-sum amount toward a project, which you can pay off over time in any amounts and at any pace you like — there's no fixed installment schedule. Your dashboard shows how much you've paid toward the pledge so far and how much remains. Note that the "paid so far" figure includes all your confirmed giving toward that project, not only payments explicitly tagged to the pledge, since any contribution to the same project counts toward it.
Offerings are standing giving categories — Tithes, Combined Offering, Local Church Budget, Welfare, Missions, CID, and Camp Meeting — paid from your dashboard whenever you like, with no target amount or completion state. A pledge, by contrast, is tied to a specific project and a specific amount you're committing to give toward it.
Every confirmed contribution can be downloaded as a PDF receipt from the payment confirmation screen, or later from your dashboard's History tab. If you have an account, you can also download a full project statement covering everything you've given toward a specific project, or a pledge certificate once a pledge is fully paid.
